At Dogwood Church, we are committed to creating space for people to encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and build meaningful relationships within our community. As part of this mission, we’re excited to introduce The TAB, a temporary gathering place that will serve as a home for our church family while we work toward an exciting expansion project.
Here’s why this vision matters and why we’re taking these next steps:
Why We’re Expanding
1. Growth in Numbers, Growth in Community
God has been doing incredible things at Dogwood! Our Sunday attendance has grown significantly over the past few years. With this growth comes the need for more space to connect, worship, and serve.
2. Current Space Limitations
While we’re grateful for our current building, it’s no longer sufficient to meet the needs of our growing congregation. Our worship center seats a little under 700 people, with 224 of those seats located in a balcony with less-than-ideal views. Additionally, our lobby and restroom facilities are not equipped to handle the increasing number of attendees.
3. Prime Time for Worship
Through experience, we’ve learned that people in our area prefer to attend church between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM on Sundays. While we’ve tried adding additional services at other times, they’ve not been as effective in fostering community and engagement. To accommodate more people during peak hours, we need a solution that expands our capacity without compromising the quality of our worship experience.
4. Reaching Our Growing Community
Fayette, East Coweta, and South Fulton counties are growing as people move in from across the United States and the world. These new neighbors are seeking connection, purpose, and faith. Our vision is to provide a welcoming space where they can encounter Jesus and find a church family.
